Manages new development of websites and associated software in a face-paced environment.  Negotiates priorities, coordinates assignments, monitors status, and provides periodic reporting to stakeholders.  Identifies and resolves roadblocks.  Chases down information and documentation needed to by the technical staff to complete projects on schedule.

This role is about allocating resources, adjusting priorities and managing backlog to the bottom line.  It requires excellent communication, organization and follow-up.  The right candidate will be adept at building relationships with business stakeholders and technical personnel alike. 

We need someone who can work well with rapid development cycles and who has a natural ability to find paths to get prioritized enhancements to customers quickly through design creativity, iterative release planning and problem-solving.   Above all, the Development Project Manager must take personal responsibility for quality execution.  This means being decisive enough to sound the alarm about potential issues, thorough enough to personally evaluate user experience, and dedicated enough to step in wherever help is needed to bring projects in on time.

The position requires a full understanding of all phases of SDLC. We will look for this person to gain a deep understanding of our business, its challenges and opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Experience working as a Project Manager in a software development environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Project or a competing product.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Experience evaluating and objectively prioritizing business value
  • Experience evaluating ideas against total product portfolio and strategy.
  • Experience assuming personal responsibility for project delivery.
  • Experience working in an agile environment a plus.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
  • Frequently drives to site locations and frequently travels both domestic and international.

Physical Demands:
  • Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.
  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Moderate mobility required.
  • Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
  • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
  • Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups both internally and externally.
  • Ability to apply basic principles to solve conceptual issues.
  • Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.
